How the Little Giant Came To Be

The Little Giant ladder was invented in Germany more than 30 years ago, but didn't take its current shape (so to speak) until entrepreneur Hal Wing came on the scene. One day, Wing met the inventor of an oddball new product meant to take the place of several different kinds of ladders. The new item could take the shape of almost any existing type of ladder, bend over obstacles, stand straight and steady on uneven surfaces, and fit into almost any spot.

Wing saw the potential for Little Giant to eventually render every other type of ladder moot, and it wasn't long before he set up a company, Wing Enterprises, to take advantage of the find. He began importing the first Little Giants and assembling them in his garage, later selling them at fairs, trade shows, and other small venues.

As word spread, demand grew, and the Wing family garage was suddenly too small. Wing licensed the product from the manufacturer, purchased a manufacturing facility, and started making the ladders in the United States. Since then, Wing Enterprises has continually refined the Little Giant product, from design to fabrication, until it's become the best-built and most popular ladder in the world. In the process, they've revolutionized the ladder industry.
